Jimmy Needham- "Forgiven and Loved" (live)

Hands down, there is no other artist in the CCM pop market that is holding it down like this guy. He brings you authentic, gut-wrenching worship without being just "another worship singer."

Any guy that names Keith Green and Lecrae as musical influences gets plenty of love from me. If you like John Mayer, Jason Mraz, or Gavin Degraw.....you'll like Needham's stuff. Plus he's a Houston native.

Dave Brubeck- "Blue Rondo a la Turk"

Dave Brubeck's "Blue Rondo a la Turk" is a jazz classic. This song is completely chill, but it also gives you the chance to cut-a-rug if you want to. It's so classy and yet so simple. I love his music!

E.T.W.- I Want You Back in My Life

E.T.W.'s "I Want You Back in My Life" is on the first hiphop album I've ever owned.

I remember hearing the song "End Time Warriors" on KSBJ's Lightforce and my mouth dropped. I wasn't really familiar with hiphop and I was only 8....but I fell in love. This music spoke to me unlike any other music I had heard before.

E.T.W.- I Want You Back in My Life by djmilhouse

It's crazy to look back and see how God put hiphop culture in my life at an early age when I wasn't even in the innercity. I grew up in the suburbs most of my life and by listening to hiphop...you look like a wannabe. It's crazy because if I didn't have this background or this love for the culture, I would not be able to connect with the people I work with on a daily basis.

"I Want You Back in My Life" is an original hiphop worship track. You can worship through hiphop??? Yes. Listen to the prayer of this song and enjoy.

Shiny Toy Guns did a worship song?

Shiny Toy Guns - The Sky by djmilhouse

I'm not exactly when this album came out, but I'd have to say it was around 10 years ago???

Chad Petree and Jeremy Dawson(of Shiny Toy Guns) worked with the youth choir at their church in Oklahoma City to create a worship album. It was a free download at the time and was actually really good.

I've been following Chad and Jeremy for at least ten years and these guys make incredible music. Their song "Major Tom" is also that super dope song in almost ever Lincoln car commercial. I don't even know what genre to put them in today. They've done Hard House, Trance, Worship, and currently I guess it's Electropop/Indie???

They're also known as Cloud2Ground, Slyder, R.R.D.S., and who knows what other name they've used to create music.

"The Sky" is my favorite song on the album.

It's pure worship. I'm not a fan of children's voices in my music, but this actually works.

Close your eyes, meditate on the words, and worship. :)

Street Fighter II-Enya-Hiphop

Lojique-Broken ft. Enya by djmilhouse
There's only one place where you'll hear the crazy, but "works-so-well," combination of Street Fighter II, Enya, and hiphop. This song is ridiculous....bananas....make-me-go-loco!

Nickels is the mastermind/producer/dj that created the backdrop and PageOne and Othello drop very heartfelt lyrics on top of it. "Broken" is a classic from 2001 and continues to challenge me and encourage me in my walk with the Lord.

This is a track you want to chill and meditate on. These guys from the Northwest brought it on this song.

Nickels is one of the most underated producers and dj's in HHH. He creates art. His heart bleeds on this track and the scratches are right on cue.

My favorite line:

"I'd rather eat a steak dinner

laced with paint thinner

it's a sickness,

than to bear false witness and backbite..."

Boogiemonsters- "Mark of the Beast II (R.S.V.)

Boogiemonsters- "Mark of the Beast II (R.S.V.)" by djmilhouse

Come on? With a name like Boogiemonsters what's not to like about this group?

"Mark of the Beast" is a hiphop classic! This track from 1997 still gets bump in the ride with the windows down.

This song has a grimey East Coast sound thats kind of spooky with its apocalyptic chants about not taking the "mark of the beast."

While listening to this song, you'll be wondering....."Did RZA, Ghostface Killah, Method Man and the dudes from Wu Tang convert to Christianity?"

Ecclesiology meets Hiphop?

Lampmode Records latest album entitled "The Church: Called and Collected" is solid ecclesiology on top of a landscape of hiphop beats.

I bought the album primarily to support Lamp Mode and the 9 Marks movement of a healthy church. After listening to the album several times, I've left convicted and challenged to be more involved in my local church.

I had never imagined this album would challenge me so much. I thought it'd just be another album to jam while driving to the grocery story with the windows down, but instead it was like picking up a Wayne Grudem book.

Stephen the Levite's song on the album entitled "Membership" is one that has really spoken to me. Since I'm involved in full-time ministry during the week, I often neglect "putting-in-work" at my church. This idea of mine is unbiblical and gives me no excuse for excluding myself from my church.

I didn't make this song a Mp3 download but you can listen here:
Stephen the Levite- "Membership" by djmilhouse

One of my favorite verses of the song is this one:

"Membership is being a part of the body,
but how can you be a body part
when being apart from the body?"

Here is a promotional video from Lamp Mode.

This compilation album features Shai Linne, Trip Lee, Tedashii, Flame, and uses samples of sermons from Mark Dever and Thabiti Anyabwile so you know it's solid!

This album is a must have and I hope many HHH artist pick it up because it's very much needed in that community.

The perfect summer jam. This artist from St. Lucia brings you a worship song you'll be singing all summer long!

If King David was writing a Psalm and was from the Carribean...it would sound like this.

This song is always played when I feel down, tired, or just want to shout praise to my Lord. Do not hesitate on this download. If you like reggae, you'll fall in love with everything about this song.

Now I think I'll head to the Reggae Hut to eat some Ox tails and sip on some peach tea!

Shad- "A Good Name"

Shad- "A Good Name" http://soundcloud.com/djmilhouse/shad-a-good-name/download <<<< Download Mp3

Everything about this song is classic. Beats and storytelling at it's best! Hiphop dead? Not while Shad keeps rhyming.

Shadrach Kabango gives you the history of his name while challenging the listener to live up to their names/history. After listening to this song, those in Christ should be hype to rep the name of the Lord Most High to the fullest.

He goes through the biblical story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in a way you've never heard it before.

He drops lines like:

"When the king made a statue of gold
he told the whole nation, that they had to bow down it.
That or get tossed in the furnace
Shad and his boys said "Boss you can burn us!
We can't serve this statue, it's worthless."
The king was mad but Shadrach wasn't nervous.
It must of been some strange phenomenon,
walked straight through the fire, Chaka Khan.
Saved by faith stronger than flames
if I'm half as brave, I'll honor my name."
